So when it was clear who would be running for Prez in 2008 I decided to become educated on both opponents and read their memoirs. I started with Barack Obama's book -- the first 100 pages were interesting -- a history of his early life. White mother. African father. Lived in Indonesia while his mom was married to an Indonesian. Raised during his high school years by his grandparents in Hawaii (who called him Barry). Went to college. Graduated. Joined groups to make changes. That's where I stopped. I was sooo bored and uninterested. I feel for him because it would be hard to have such a diverse background and really not know where to fit in. However, it became clear that he considers himself and black man even though his mother was white and he was raised in a white household. I agree with him that there needs to be more programs and involvement in black populated areas but I hate that he has taken that route and totally ignored his other "half." However, I only got to page 200 so I can't say that he never went there. It completely lost my interest. I will start John McCain's book in a few weeks. I need a break from those type of books and read something enjoyable. I don't know who I will vote for. Probably write in Mickey Mouse.

I think he considers himself black because he's an opportunist. If he runs on that platform, maybe he gets more of the minority vote, plus everyone can call it "historic". Whatever, Barry.
Maybe we can all write in Mickey Mouse! LOL. It is America, afterall.
I've been meaning to read his book. Now I'll go into it knowing it'll probably be a slow read. Thanks for the heads up!
I gotta go w/ Christina on this one.
I'm gonna write Mitt Romney=)
