I know, I know. It's been so long since I wrote anything on my blog. I've had blog freeze, if that's a term -- I also feel like everytime I post something I need to include a picture or it's not blog worthy. I can't find my camera/computer cord so I have no pictures. Wait. I do have pictures. Last time I went to walmart I requested the CD, but of course I am on the computer where the CD drive door is broken and will have to wait my turn for the computer with the working CD drive. The story of my life. This last week I got all my kids registered for school. Jeffrey will be starting the 8th grade. It baffles me. I remember 8th grade. I had Mr. Nelson first hour and I was the pepclub secratary -- it's just strange to think I'm that old -- but his enthusiasm for school is nothing like mine was (or is). His school is on the other side of Stillwater. Nick will be in 6th grade and his school is right next to where Zack (5th) and Andrew (3rd) will be -- it's on the same side of town that we live and within biking distance. Of course now that Nick is a cool middle-schooler biking to school might be above him. I'm still trying to figure out how I will juggle it all. I am a part-time single mom -- well 3/4 time single mom so I rely a lot on friends and I think now more than ever I'll have to do that. Also, thank goodness for carpooling. We are also in to the second week of football practice. Nick and Zack practice four days a week from 5:30 to 7:30 -- is there a worse time? Obviously the coaches are all male and have no knowledge of the bad timing of it -- they don't have to cook dinner, they don't have to do homework and they most likely don't have to pick their kids up from school and hear how tired they are. Enough about the complaining though -- my boys are loving football and I am loving watching them. Yesterday we went to Tulsa for their first scrimmage -- which was really running a few plays against teams they will play this season. They are adorable (they'd like to use the word tough) in their pads and helmets. I am really going to enjoy these next few months of their lives....

Let the insanity begin. I think there was a pep club when I was in JH too. I was an 8th grade cheerleader...super cool! If Nick is above the bike riding thing, you could always get him a longboard. Everyone is doing it. Can't wait to see you and McKenzie's superfan/athletic supporter shirts. p.s. you should really encourage her to get a blog so we can become friends too.
I know what you mean, Brooke. I only have the two kids but one is at highschool, one at middle school and I'm finishing my last year at South Alabama. Marc works 40 minutes away now so he's no help (except he will take Justin to seminary and THAT helps!) I student teach in the spring and I'm really worried about how I'll get everyone everwhere and pick them up too. Marc says it will all work out but it makes my head hurt thinking about it! I guess someday we'll miss these times! Oh, and I can't believe Andrew is in 3rd grade!!! My how time flies!
You have officially been inducted into the insane life of a football mom. I feel for you dealing with twice the insanity. I guess Cade's broken arm can be looked at as a partial blessing. (that's so wrong...)
Hey, Brooke - Love your blog. I've been stalking it for a while...sorry I've never commented. I know how you feel about those crazy football schedules. Brant is playing this year and even though he's only in second grade, they practice Monday through Friday from 6pm to 8pm. Yeah, those coaches have no idea about schedules and such. Well, have a great school year. I think it will be fun being a "football mom."
Pep club secretary? You're really cool. I was a cheerleader in 8th grade. I was also nominated for Miss Carver but lost to Yolanda Carter. It was rigged.
Why haven't I seen you at football practice? Where do you hide?
Hey, just think...it could be worse. You could have to drive right past that school you're next to and take your kids to another school. Car pooling is the bomb. All the cool mom's are doing it.
I admire you so much for all that you do for your boys. You are Wonder Woman. Thank you so much for watching Madison and Garrett the other day. I did get a job, it is to be an assistant to a 2nd grade student. I haven't accepted it yet but I think I will. I don't think anyone can say they know what you mean...you are so busy with Joel gone, it is all up to you. I would get upset when people would say "I know what you are going through" about me being with the kids all the time and Adam not being here very often. I can't say I know what you are going through because Adam comes home at night. They don't know, You are a trooper for being so valiant and strong for your family. Did I make any sense at all? Probably not, just disregard and accept only the compliments toward you.
Holy Toleto-are you ever busy! Have fun with the boys in football-being as big of a sports junky as you are, I'm sure you'll eat it up ;). As for blog freeze, I totally get ya. I still love your posts, however, pictures or not.
