If I could be an animal....

Sometimes when I'm driving around (which seems to happen all the time when you have four children) I wonder what I should be blogging about -- then I thought about my cats and how they are always sleeping and how nice that would be....to just sleep all day....but is that the animal I would really want to be? Then I thought -- that's a great blog topic -- okay, so maybe I'm stretching it, but what animal would I be if I was indeed an animal?
I'm tall. I could be a giraffe -- but I think I'd get bothered by that long, black tongue. I could be a lion -- they are powerful, the king (queen) of the jungle, but I'm the oldest and sometimes I get tired of being "in charge" or the one that has to make all the decisions. I definitely would not want to be a cow. I've been a nursing mother before and the idea of being "pumped" twice a day is NOT appealing to me. And I grew up on a farm and I know that cows are not the most loved animal. There's always a bunny. People love bunnies. But they also eat their first-born batch of babies. Gross. My mom loves bears. Bears are good animals. They are powerful, fierce, strong, but they are also loners and the idea of wandering alone all the time is not appealing to me. I'd definitely have to be an animal that is around other animals or people. I guess that leaves either a cat or a dog and a dog -- well, there's so many different kinds of dogs. I love pugs. Love them. Once I read that when someone gets depressed they should google "pugs in costumes" and that will cheer them up. I've done that and it does cheer one up. But pugs snore and their tongues are always hanging out. I guess I'm just going to have to be a fat, lazy, loved, overfed cat. But hopefully I'll stay a kitty....

(enjoy the pugs in costume picture -- see it made you smile)

I love this blog idea. So cute. And yes, the pugs in customes did indeed make me smile.
Hmm... what animal would I be? After all your great explanations, I would want to be a dog too, but not just any dog. I want to be one of Oprah's dog. Now that's the life.

My sister, Amy, has a pug and she is always dressing him up and making him do strange things. LOL about the bunnies being canibals. I think another problem with being a giraffe is that long neck. You could be a dog but then you'd have to deal with fleas. Have you seen the children's book, "Animals should definitely not wear clothing"? It's a good one.

I showed Emilio your post and he was very pleased. It's true about googling "pugs in costumes" when you're feeling down. My brother (because he is so cool) has an iphone, and during an especially long America-themed sacrament meeting, we looked up "patriotic pugs"--it made it all worthwhile.

I so need an iphone so I can do that during sacrament meeting. Sure would make it more exciting!
