Brooke and Linda - we pulled it off! Nick and his friend Chandler Nick cooling off at the celebration
So last Wednesday was the last day of school and with it came the beloved/dreadful (depending how you look at it) fifth grade graduation/celebration. Every year at Sangre Ridge, the fifth graders are treated to a day of fun -- pizza, DJ, blow ups, caricature, games -- etc. The day starts off with a graduation ceremony and then an afternoon of fun. The kids look forward to this day since they were in kindergarten, because when they are younger and at recess they can see the fifth graders having their fun. Nick received two awards in graduation. The gold presidential academic award (requires a 3.5 GPA for at least three semesters) and was also selected as one of two students from his class to receive the SHS alumni award which was awarded to a student who demonstrates leadership and academic skills in and out of the classroom. Ask me if I was a proud mom? Back to the celebration....so last year for some insane reason I decided to sign up to co-chair the event. It turns out, my good friend Linda Bryson signed up also so we planned it together. Linda did so much work and even though it took a lot of time and it felt very overwhelming we pulled it off. It turned out great. The kids had a good time and the weather was perfect. Having said that, I am very happy the position is spoken for next year when Zack will have his celebration. I'll just sit back and watch.

Hi Brooke! It is so good to see your pic! You look beautiful as always. Can't wait to see more pictures of the boys! Justin has a blog too but it's private (since I'm an over-protective-mom) We sent an invite to your email address - just thought maybe he and Jeffrey could reconnect. I know they were great buddies=)
Brooke-I love the pictures. I can't believe how much Nick has grown. I would not have recognized him. And as Susan said, you do look beautiful as always (Let me know your secret on how you stay looking soo young!--I mean I know you are young, but, well you get my point). Anyway, I'm loving your blog. Next year Ariel will be in 5th grade, and I will be on the committee for planning their 50's day big end of the year celebration. AHHHH! LOL
Oh come on now, you know you want to be in charge again. I bet they'd love to have you help. hee hee
You didn't tell me about Nick's prestigious awards. I guess that warrants a cell phone. When you talked about Linda for some reason I pictured an old lady. She obviously isn't. Cabinets are in. Working on posting pictures.
