My Tyler Perry obsession

(tyler perry himself)

This post is inspired by Christina who recently posted about her love of English films. I have a problem with English films. The problem is I don't understand the accent. They talk much too fast and have too many fancy words for me. Remember I am a simple Oklahoma girl. Anyway, I thought I would blog about my favorite movie producer Tyler Perry. Yes, he is black and yes his movies are made up of an almost 100 percent black cast -- that doesn't matter. Black people watch movies with white people in them and vice versa. Boy, I am digging myself a VERY big hole. His movies are funny, genuine and so true to life and true to heart. Sometimes I get tired of romantic comedies where everything is funny and then there's some sort of conflict but in the end everything works out. Tyler Perry movies have all those components but in each of his movies he portrays a topic that is real and he doesn't sugar-coat it or make it seem easy for the person dealing with the problem. They are real and I love to see how these people resolve the issues. I feel like I am answering an essay question and just going on and on and on. So if anyone cares (I know my family makes fun of me for this obsession) rent a Tyler Perry movie tonight and tell me what you think. Here are my top five Tyler Perry movies in order of my favorites: 1: Diary of a Mad black woman 2: Why did I get married? 3: Daddy's little Girls 4: Madea's family reunion and 5: Meet the browns

You'd think by now no one would care what color people are wouldn't you? I haven't seen any of these movies but I'll check them out! You always have such good recommendations! Thanks!

I definitely appreciate that Tyler Perry's movies are clean and end with a moral. I think he might be making a point that "black movies" don't have to be filled with gangster themes. He's the Bill Cosby of film.

We really don't watch movies much anymore (well unless it is animation). It just was not in our budget for a while, and we got use to not having them. However, if when we are in the mood to go and rent something, I'll have to check out. Love the Twilight series books!
